Young adult, never totally outgrew bedwetting… bladder problem, sleep problem, or something else?
I’m in my mid-late 20s and otherwise healthy (have tested negative for infections, diabetes, kidney problems, prostate problems, etc.) I’ve had the problem basically my whole life… I did it pretty much every night until I was 12, and it’s gone up and down since then; now it’s maybe 5 or 6 times a year on average, although it can be worse if I’m under a lot of stress.
Is it possible that my bladder just never completely “outgrew” the problem like the docs always said it would? (When I was a kid I was always told it was too small for my age…) Or is the problem that I sleep too soundly so that I don’t wake up when I need to go? Actually I do wake up to go to the bathroom most nights, and it’s only on the rare nights when I’m really tired or stressed that I sleep through it and wake up wet.
Yes, I do watch my liquid intake at night and follow all other such common recommemdations… just looking for ideas on what the problem is… anyone have experience or insights on this?
